Welcome to the official website of GeSSoMI-2024, the Google exploreCSR Summer School on Machine Intelligence, hosted by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

In a testament to academic excellence and collaborative innovation, the University of Melbourne and the University of Jaffna were honored recipients of the prestigious Google exploreCSR Award for the 2023/2024 cycle. As a result of this esteemed recognition, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna is delighted to introduce GeSSoMI-2024, a three-day intensive gathering set to explore the intricacies of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Cloud Computing, and Distributed Systems, scheduled to be held from the 14th to the 16th of June 2024. GeSSoMI-2024 promises to be a transformative experience for the 111 registered student participants from state universities in Sri Lanka.

Throughout the summer school, attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers from Google (USA), the University of Melbourne (Australia), and esteemed institutions across Sri Lanka, including the Universities of Moratuwa, Colombo School of Computing, Peradeniya, Ruhuna, and Jaffna. These sessions, delivered in a hybrid format, will offer a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge advancements in the field.

Moreover, participants will benefit from hands-on training sessions conducted by industry leaders from renowned software companies such as 99x and WSO2. These interactive workshops will provide invaluable practical skills and insights into the real-world applications of machine intelligence.
