Course Highlights

Course Objective:

Gain the essential knowledge and practical skills required to design and build IoT and automated devices. This course provides a solid foundation for understanding smart systems and turning innovative ideas into working solutions.

Course Contents:

● Gain a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts behind smart devices and the Internet of Things

● Learn how sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers work as the building blocks of IoT systems

● Practise basic programming to control simple device behaviour through guided, hands on exercises

● Build confidence in connecting devices wirelessly and accessing cloud platforms for remote monitoring

● Apply your foundational knowledge to design and create simple automated devices for real world use

● Develop awareness of security, privacy, and responsible practices in IoT

Awarding Certificate

To receive the Certificate in Smart Devices and Internet of Things, participants must:

●       Maintain a minimum attendance of 80 percent
●       Obtain a minimum final mark of 40 percent

Your final marks will be determined through a combination of 60% from your lab assignment marks and 40% from your end-of-course project results.

Certificate Categories:

●      Distinction for final marks of 75 percent or above
●      Merit for final marks from 55 percent to 74 percent
●      Pass for final marks from 40 percent to 54 percent

Participants who meet the attendance requirement but score below 40 percent will receive a Letter of Participation.
