The Department of Computer Science (DCS) at the Faculty of Science, University of Jaffna, wishes to organize the CS-Career Fair’24, scheduled for Friday, February 16, 2024. This event will be hosted in a hybrid mode at DCS, allowing participating companies to join either via Zoom or in person at the Department of Computer Science, University of Jaffna. Students attending the career fair will be present in person. If a company opts to connect online, they will do so to a designated stall at the Department of Computer Science, University of Jaffna, where students will attend in person.

Aim
This career fair primarily aims to bring prospective employers together on a day and provide a chance for our students to interact with employers and explore their possibilities in securing internships and future employment opportunities.
Who will participate:
The DCS has 37 fourth-year computer science students seeking opportunities to secure industrial placements for 4-6 months from April/May 2024. Soon after their industrial training, these students can also be readily employed around October 2024. In addition we also have invited recent computer science graduates and students from Computer Engineering and Business Technology Management students to participate in the career fair. We are in the process of collecting their information. Some of them may even seek employment opportunities.
How this will be conducted:
Dedicated space for each company will be arranged in the premises of the DCS, including for the companies which connect remotely. For the companies which correct online, each will also be provided a separate link to connect with students they want to interview. Students will be facilitated to face interviews in each stall. A web page containing the resumes of the participating students will be shared on the day for easy access.
What are the benefits for participating companies:
- Opportunity to interact with computer science students or potential employees from all parts of Sri Lanka.
- Logos of the participating companies will be listed on the University CS-CareerFair’24 website and promotional materials.
- Participating companies can send us a prerecorded video not exceeding 5 minutes to introduce their companies to the students, which will be posted on the CS-CareerFair’24 website.
How can a company participate:
There will be a nominal fee of LKR 10,000.00 for participating (in person/virtual) in the CS-Career Fair’24. Interested companies need to make the payment and then register via the link below. When they register, they also need to upload their logos, payment proof, and a promotional video (if available). The deadline for registration is the 20th of January, 2024. The nominal fee can be paid to the following University’s bank account with a special mention “CS-Career Fair’24”.
