Team Hybrid_Agents Secures Third Place in the FinTech Track at Cursor Buildathon 2026

Ms. Varsha Jeyarajalingam (2021/CSC/080) and Mr. Thayatharsan Tharmaraj (2020/CSC/059), secured Third Place in the FinTech Track at the “Cursor Buildathon 2026”, a 24-hour hackathon held on 16–17 May 2026 at the Royal MAS Arena, Colombo 07.

Competing as Team Hybrid_Agents, the students developed “Seylan360”, an AI-powered banking ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between banking operational security and customer convenience. The solution comprised two key components:

  • Seylan IntelliBank (Bank-side business solution) – Developed to support risk teams and relationship managers with enhanced transaction intelligence and fraud detection capabilities.
  • Seylan Assistant (Customer-side solution) – An AI-powered banking companion aimed at improving the banking experience for retail customers.
