The DCS has built strong linkages with IT-industries since year 2010. The DCS will organise a one or two days’ industrial visit to IT companies for the Level-2S students with the support of the Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM). From year 2010 to year 2015, students of the DCS have visited IT companies, namely, 99x Technology, CodeGen, hSenid Mobile Solutions, IFS, Millennium IT, MicroImage, Pearson Lanka, Virtusa, WSO2, and Zone 24×7. This visit enables students to know about the infrastructure facilities that are in IT industries and to discuss the latest trends in software development.
The Computer Science undergraduate students had a two-day industrial visit in the Southern part of Sri Lanka. This industrial visit is a proud initiative of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna in collaboration with the SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies). Twenty four special degreee students and two senior lecturers visited Virtusa, IFS, MIT (Millennium Information Technology), eCollege, Cinergix Research and Sabre Technologies during their stay in Colombo from 11-12 November, 2010.
